Why Dance?

A lot of people, especially of the husband variety don’t like to dance. I attribute this to the lack of experience. Most of us have never had any real dancing experience other then gyrating on the dance floor like possessed demons from Tasmania.

Why do you want to dance? Well…

Dancing is more effective, and cheaper, then marriage counseling. Think about it, what are you doing when you dance?

  • You have to touch each other
  • You have to look into each other’s eyes
  • You have to cooperate
  • You need to be patient with one another
  • You have to touch each other
  • You (the male) need to learn to lead
  • You (the female) need to learn to follow
  • You need to learn to block distractions so you can concentrate on your partner
  • You need to trust your partner to be where they need to be when they need to be there
  • You need to learn to connect with each other
  • Did I mention you have to touch?

What does all this mean? YOU HAVE TO LEARN TO COMMUNICATE!

And in the process you get to have fun. When was the last time you asked your spouse, let’s have some fun and go to marriage counseling this weekend? Dancing is a lot more fun!

  1. All of this is so true! I love taking lessons with my husband! We love to go out dancing! Check out the studio where we take lessons! They are really awesome and say the same thing you're saying:)

  2. My husband and I have had this discussion more than once. If people would go dancing, there would be alot less divorces!!!! WE TOTALLY AGREE
